Chief Executive Officer - Kevin M. Kirton
Kevin Kirton serves as CEO and as a director of Buckhead Investment Partners, Inc. and owns 50 percent of the company’s outstanding stock. He also serves as CEO and a 50 percent shareholder of Funding Incorporated, an FHA and Fannie Mae-approved multifamily lender which originates funds and services multifamily mortgages nationwide.
Kevin was born in Tulsa, OK in 1961 and grew up in Houston, TX. In 1985, he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Washington University in St. Louis. Kevin lives in Houston with his wife and three children.
From 1995 to 1997, he served as manager of Commercial Lending for Main Street Mortgage, a subsidiary of Goldman Sachs & Co. in St. Petersburg, Florida. Prior to joining Main Street, he served as president of Funding Incorporated for seven years and operated its San Antonio office. He also is former executive vice president of Citadel Mortgage Co. of San Antonio, TX. Kevin has enjoyed a close working relationship with Wall Street’s top investment banking houses to which Funding Incorporated has sold participation in, and securities backed by, many of the mortgages that it has originated.
During the past 22 years, Kevin has developed an extensive knowledge of multi-family lending, financial operations, development and management, which, together with his keen analytical skills, guide Buckhead’s success in every transaction that it undertakes.
President - Matthew J. Morgan
Matthew Morgan serves as president and as a director of Buckhead Investment Partners, Inc. and owns 50 percent of the company’s outstanding stock.
Matthew grew up in Houston, TX, where he was born in 1962, and received a B.S. in economics and a B.A. in English from Vanderbilt University in 1984. Matthew, his wife and three children make their home in Houston.
From 1984 to 1988, Matthew owned and operated two residential and commercial construction firms, completing projects in Houston, Atlanta, Connecticut and New York. He also served as marketing director for KRERC, where he developed and marketed real estate statistical databases before joining Funding Incorporated as vice president in 1989. He became president of Funding Incorporated in 1995 and is a 50 percent shareholder in the firm, which originates funds and services multifamily mortgages nationwide.
During the past 22 years, Matthew has developed an extensive knowledge of real estate development, construction, lending and financial operations, as well as a turnkey understanding of multifamily development and management. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Texas. Matthew’s strong communication skills coupled with his diversified experience in finance, real estate, business, marketing and construction has resulted in a unique combination of skills in the multifamily development industry that provide essential benefits to Buckhead’s operations.
The Maryland Manor Apartments are to be replaced by a multi- use development
that will be constructed along the south side of Bissonnet Street, east
of Ashby Street. The 23-story building will provide a five-level parking
garage, an amenity plaza level (6th floor) with exercise room, spa and
offices, and 17 floors of apartments or condominiums.
